ULC-S135Fire test for the determination of combustibility parametres of building materials

ULC-S135 Fire tests for combustibility on building materials – Standard:

ULC-S135standard test method for the determination of combustibility parametres of building materials using an oxygen consumption calorimeter.

ULC-S135 Fire tests for combustibility on building materials–Standard Scope:

This test method determines combustibility parameters for the assessment of degree of combustibility of building materials by measuring the heat release and smoke production from specimens exposed to radiant heat using the test apparatus, specimen configurations and procedures described.

This test method determines the amount of heat and smoke that may be contributed to a fire involving products made from the same material as that of the test specimen.

ULC-S135 Fire tests for combustibility on building materials – Relative Index

(a) Rate of heat release, by measurement of the oxygen consumption, as determined by the oxygen concentration and the flow rate in the exhaust product stream;
(b) Effective heat of combustion from a concomitant measurement of specimen mass loss rate, in combination with the heat release rate;
(c) Smoke release, by obscuration of light by the combustion product stream
(d) Ignitability, as a measurement of time from initial exposure to time of sustained flaming
